DIY | Spooky Halloween Bar/Candy Cart!

Hey guys!

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween! I've been in the spirit this year and wanted to create a spooky little corner in our apartment. I decided to decorate on and around our bar cart! If you're opposed to a bar or drink cart idea, you could just as easily turn this into a candy cart! I think a candy cart would be so adorable and if we were having people over for Halloween that's what I would have done. I've been limiting my sugar so with it just being Fred and I, a candy cart would have tempted me too badly! Also, we already have this little corner for entertaining with our makeshift bar cart so that worked for us. If you made it a candy cart instead of a bar cart, I would just swap out the bottles for some candy dishes and jars of treats!

I knew I wanted a bat banner because I saw one online and thought it would look so cute. I was planning on making it by hand to save money, but then I found one at Target in the dollar section! I love you Target <3  I also found adorable tulle pom poms that I strung onto twine to make a second banner. Then, I added a black pom pom banner the mix. I found the tulle poms and the pom banner at Target as well!

Then, I added a "poison" drink bottle to the other drinks, some of my painted pumpkins, my ghost gourd, artificial pinecones and acorns and a gilded flower to the top of the cart. You could add as many items as you like to yours. The lighting and tulle on the cart is my favorite part. It creates such a good, spooky atmosphere in low lighting.

Have a great week!
I'm so excited to celebrate Halloween this weekend and dress up at my sister-in-law's party! Check out her blog!

This was our bar cart before:
It's a fun touch to add a "poison" bottle to the other drinks! You could make your own bottle, or buy one. I found this one at Target!
Add your decorated pumpkins to your set up to show them off! If you tried any of my DIY no-carve pumpkin ideas, you could use them here!
Banners really add to the atmosphere and they're more festive than the cart alone!
I wrapped tulle around some string lights to wrap around the cart. These two items were bought at Target as well!
Lighting is everything! I pretty much use lights to decorate for any holiday because they set the mood! You could use a material other than tulle as well. I liked the white tulle with it because of the cobweb vibe it created!
I set a few artificial pine cones and acorns among the other decorations to make it feel more "fall"! I got them at Jo Ann!
I thought a gilded gold flower was a nice touch to the final setup, but I would add flowers to everything if I could, so it's definitely preference!
This adorable treat jar is a gift from my mother-in-law! I got it after I had taken the pictures of the cart, but we have it with our cart now! A treat jar is an adorable addition to a spooky bar cart setup + perfect for the candy cart option!
