When Discouraged, Encourage
I call my mom a lot. When I don't know what to do, I call my mom. When I'm happy, I call my mom. When I'm sad, I call my mom. I'm so blessed and very thankful to have my mom to call for counsel and friendship. There have been a few times in my life when I've called my mom and said "I'm so sad, I just don't know what to do." My mom has always responded with "Go do something for someone else." She's always reminded me that love only makes more love and that generosity is always returned. She'd say something like, "Just busying yourself with someone else's burdens or needs will make you forget your own for awhile and you just might find some joy along the way." Every time that I've taken this advice, I have found joy. So I'm sharing this with all of you today. If and when you find yourself discouraged, go encourage.
