Hi, friends!

I just tried home grocery delivery for the first time and I'm pretty pumped about it! I'd been hearing about grocery delivery services for awhile and I've really wanted to give it a try. I thought this was the perfect week to do so too, with all of the cold, snowy weather we've had! I couldn't believe how easy and convenient it was to use the new Curbside Delivery program at Giant Eagle. It was so nice to shop for groceries in my pajamas in the comfort of my own home! It was wonderful not having to face the snow and with Curbside Express, I didn't have to sacrifice my time.

Fred and I have been trying to eat healthier since the New Year. We've both wanted to pick better options for the foods we crave. The New Year really can bring about a new you, or maybe I should say a better you! Every year, I look forward to the New Year because I view it as a fresh start. I get excited to create my resolutions and reflect on the past year. It's a great chance to create a better lifestyle.

I ate so many treats over the holidays and my sweet tooth loved it. I've felt a little sad settling back into a healthier food plan, but it doesn't have to be that way. I can get excited about finding new recipes, forming healthier habits, and getting back into a routine after the holiday season! It's helped to find recipes that make healthier versions of the snacks and treats that I like. I made avocado fudge for the first time with my delivered groceries!

(Just keep on readin' for the recipe)

I love that I can buy fresh produce through the Curbside Delivery, it's helped me to stay on track!
You can try it for free because the fee is waived for all first orders!

So, here's how the Curbside Delivery program works:

1) Shop
To begin shopping online, just pick the store local to you and start filling your cart. You can shop online when and how you want to! It's a great option because you're in control of your time and how much you spend. You can connect your Advantage Card to your Curbside Express account to load your shopping history. You can also use your "shopping history" to make shopping even faster!
This is what the shopping cart looks like:
This is how you select your delivery date & time:

Here's my final order:
2) Relax
After ordering the groceries online, you can relax while trusted Personal Shoppers select fresh products for you. The items are hand-picked because the Personal Shoppers are trained people and not robots! You can even add specific requests to your produce (like size, color, etc.)

3) Get the door
Just make sure you're at home at your selected delivery time to accept your groceries!

Avocado Fudge (yields about 30 pieces)
Ingredients: 2 avocados, 3 cups of chocolates chips, 1/2 cup of coconut oil, 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, walnuts or additional toppings (optional)
Step 1: Line a square baking pan with parchment paper

Step 2: In a double boiler (or a makeshift double boiler) melt the chocolate and coconut oil
* I made a makeshift double boiler. Put about 1 1/2 inches of water in a medium sized pot and bring it to a boil. Then, take it off heat and put the chocolate and coconut oil in a heat-resistant bowl. Next, put the bowl in the hot water and stir the mixture occasionally to melt all of the chocolate.

Step 3: Once the mixture has melted, let it cool down completely
(If the chocolate is too hot when mixed with the avocados it will separate.)

Step 4: Peel and pit the avocados

Step 5: Put the chocolate mixture and the avocados into a blender or food processor
(I used a blender!)

Step 6: Blend or process until smooth

Step 7: Spoon the mixture onto the lined pan

Step 8: Sprinkle the fudge with sea salt

Step 9: Sprinkle on the walnuts, or additional toppings of your choice
(I wanted plain fudge, but I added walnuts to Fred's side!)

Step 10: Let the fudge chill for 3 hours

Step 11: Take the fudge out of refrigerator and cut into serving size pieces

& Enjoy!
Be sure to share the love.
Are you planning on trying the new Curbside Delivery this winter?
Also, what's your favorite healthy treat recipe? I'd love to try it!

Love,

Christina xx
