Wedding | Mix & Match Rose Gold Bridesmaid Dresses

Hi, friends!

I wanted to share this post with you because I was really happy with how my mix & match bridesmaid dresses turned out! When I first expressed that I wanted all different bridesmaid dresses, I got a mixed response. Some people thought that they might look tacky, or that they just wouldn't jive when altogether. I think some people shy away from mix & match bridesmaid dresses because the trend is still a newer one. More often, we see the traditional matching dresses on bridesmaids at weddings. You can't go wrong with either choice! I personally like both looks. I chose to do mix & match because it was what I wanted for our wedding. The most important thing is that you're staying true to you and your partner because it's your special day!

If you're considering doing mix & match, here are some of my tips:

1. Chose What You Want/Like
Don't listen to the naysayers that try to talk you out of mix & match dresses! You can have an array of dresses for your bridal party and still keep it classy and cohesive. If you have a one of a kind idea for your maids, be confident in it.

2. Don't Be Afraid To Mix Textures
I think the mix of textures with the dresses was my favorite part of my mix match! Each dress had such unique detailing and they were all beautiful to look at separately and altogether. Mixing textures wasn't hard to do with my theme because it was '20s inspired. There were sequins, beading, and fringe in the mix! Don't worry even if you aren't having a '20s theme, you can still find unique fabrics and textures that look great together.
  3. Choose Different, But Complimentary Colors
I decided I wanted to do mix and match when I couldn't decide on just one color for my bridesmaids! I can be an indecisive person, so I wasn't surprised by my decision. I loved blush, gold, rose gold, and champagne as options for the dress color. I figured, why pick just one when I could have them all! You can experiment with color and choose the perfect color combination for your wedding.

4. Have A Vision
I'm a Pinterest queen! If I'm ever scrolling on my phone, Fred asks "You pinnin'?". I think he calls all of the work I do on my phone "pinning" though hahaIt's where I found a ton of my wedding ideas and inspiration. Searching Pinterest for images can help you pick a color scheme and get an idea of what you like. You can also make a small inspiration board where you put swatches, colors, and images together to help create your vision.

If you're not following me on Pinterest & you want to check out my millions of boards,

5. Flatter Each Maid
I let all of my bridesmaids pick their dresses to be sure they liked them and felt confident wearing them. I gave them guidelines of what colors and styles that I liked and I showed them some of my inspiration images so they knew the look I was going for. I liked giving each of them a say in their look. I think mix and match dresses are great for bridesmaids because they can pick a dress that fits their unique body type!

6. Don't Forget The Accessories
I picked the color scheme, but I also let my bridesmaids pick out their own jewelry and shoes. My one request was that they picked a special hair accessory to wear, because I wanted everyone to have one. You could choose to have all of the same accessories since the dresses are already different, or you could keep it all unique. The choice is yours!

Happy wedding planning!

Love,

Christina xx
