A few weeks ago, I got to shop at the Buri and Beach + Kind Style Shop Pop Up Event. I had such an amazing time browsing through all of the beautiful bags and learning more about the inspiration and art behind them. Both Buri and Beach and Kind Style Shop are shining their light in Columbus, selling vegan and cruelty-free handbags! I love to spotlight businesses that care about the impact they have on the environment and society. It's even better when they're local businesses. I will forever support businesses that use "fashion for good". I was honored to be able to blog about this event and the bags!
Behind Buri and Beach is a brother and sister design team, passionate about fashion, culture, and community. Buri and Beach operate out of Columbus, Ohio and Houston, Texas. As soon as I saw their bags and heard about their mission, I was on board! They believe in eco-friendly and ethically produced products the provide social, environmental, and economic benefits to communities. They use natural straw materials, like sea grass and buri (which is palm leaf), all handcrafted by artisan weavers. Every step of the handbags creation process is done by hand. They don't use heavy machinery or factories to make any of their bags. Also, each purchase of a Buri and Beach bag supports the craftswomen of the Philippines and the recover of the local communities affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
The mission of Buri and Beach is "To empower women while sharing the beauty of our culture and to foster your desire to play, wander, and live in style."
All of the totes are incredible. The textures and colors of Buri and Beach are so fun! I took home the Buri and Beach Sophie Double Weave from the event. It's the straw bag that I featured in my last style post. Be sure to check it out if you love your bags with a vintage-vibe!
I also took home the Cece Vintage Crossbody in Cognac from Kind Style Shop.
Kind Style Shop was also at the pop up event. They're an online boutique based in Columbus, Ohio and they sell fashionable, cruelty-free, vegan handbags and purses from trusted brands. I will be featuring that bag in a style post very soon! I think the best part of it might be it's dainty, floral lining.
