I've been curious about using Jojoba oil for a few years now and I don't know why I hadn't tried it sooner! It has so many benefits for our skin and hair and it's an incredible natural replacement for an array of beauty products. Jojoba oil comes from the seed of the Simmondsia chinensis plant, which was originally located in northwestern Mexico and southern Arizona and California. It used to be used as a folk medicine that treated wounds on the skin and even bruises.
Recently, I decided to challenge myself and set aside five products that I use daily and swap them with Jojoba oil. I thought some of you might be interested in my results! I've been using the Desert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil and it's become my go-to multi-purpose oil.
So here are the 5 products that I set aside for Jojoba oil:
1. Moisturizer
5. Facial Cleanser
I was possibly the most curious about this one! I was unsure before I tried it if an oil like this could be a good cleanser. After a few uses, I decided that I liked it as a facial cleanser. It helped to keep my skin from over drying and it also helped prevent breakouts!
I've also been using a few other Desert Essence products and I wanted to share them with you too.

Fred and I have been diffusing the Dream Weaver Organic Essential Oil Blend at bedtime. It has a very comforting and relaxing scent. The blend is made up of Frankincense, Sweet Marjoram, Lavender, Bergamot, and Petitgrain. I really smell the Frankincense and the lavender in it. I also like to rub a little bit of this on my feet and on my pillow before bed.
I've also been using the Moringa, Jojoba, & Rose Hip Oil. I'm going to keep using this in my skincare routine as an anti-aging serum. You can definitely replace an anti-aging cream with this! It feels moisturizing on the skin, but it doesn't leave me feeling greasy.
Fred and I were both excited about trying the Tea Tree Oil Whitening Plus Toothpaste! I like the cool mint flavor and I love that this one has essential oils in it.

1. Moisturizer
I have a combination skin type and the spots that are oily are very oily. I'm always apprehensive about using oils on my face, because I don't want to make my skin even greasier. You won't have to worry about that with Jojoba oil! I absolutely loved using this as a moisturizer. This was my favorite beauty use for it that I tried. It was lightweight and didn't clog my pores. It felt very moisturizing and that feeling would last all day. Jojoba oil helps to balance our oil levels so it's safe even for my oily skin babes.
I really enjoyed using this in place of the heavier anti-age creams that I usually wear. My skin has been glowing! As soon as I apply this to my face, I get an instant subtle glow-y look. I know that Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties, so it helps reduce redness. I think I may have a bit of rosacea and my skin has been looking less red since using this.
3. Hair Mist (For Luster + Shine)
My hair gets very greasy very fast, but it also can look dull and lack shininess. I like to use hair oils or mists to give my locks some shine, but I have to use very small amounts. You will only need a tiny amount of this oil and it will help add some shine! I put a few drops in my hands, rub them together, and then put them on the ends of my hair.
4. Makeup Remover
I think I've mentioned this before, but I use organic coconut oil to remove my makeup and I love it! It doesn't clog my pores and it feels thick and moisturizing like it's really getting taking my makeup off. I think it feels like a makeup removing balm and it's an all natural option! Using Jojoba oil as a makeup remover did the trick! It took my makeup off and it felt moisturizing. However, I do like coconut oil better as a makeup remover so I won't be replacing it with Jojoba oil.
