Hi, guys!
One of my favorite things about the holiday season is trying out new recipes! My family has a cooking/baking day each year where all of the girls get together and make a full meal complete with appetizers, drinks, dinner, and desserts all from new recipes! It's such a special way to try new foods and spend time together. I think it's a great girls night, or date night idea!

I decided to start early this year and try a new cocktail and appetizer recipe for Fred and me! I tried 2 Corks + Cheers recipes from their 7UP + Ogio Mixer + Appetizer Pairing Guide. Let me just say that I am absolutely, one hundred percent in love with the Fizzy Pear cocktail I made! I like light and fruity drinks and I love a little bubbly in them for the holidays! The drink recipe that I'm going to share would be incredible as a mocktail too! I really think the fizziness of the 7UP and the Ogio prosecco bubbles come together and create some kind of magic.
The goat cheese crostini w/ pear, walnuts and honey were incredible too! I'm a big fan of crostini. A good crostini is one of my all time favorite appetizers. If it's any kind of a goat cheese honey combination, sign me up! I love my cheeses paired with a little sweetness.
Here are the recipes, if you're interested in trying for yourself:Fizzy Pear Cocktail
Makes 4 Cocktails
Ingredients:
-1 1/2 cups pear juice
- 1 cup 7UP
- 2 cups Ogio Prosecco
- 4 thin slices of pear (for garnish)
-4 sprigs fresh thyme (for garnish)
(I didn't use thyme, instead I topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
You can garnish with whatever you like.)
How-To:
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass and stir well. Add ice into glasses along with slices of pear and divide the mix among 4 glasses. Then, add your garnishes and enjoy!
Goat Cheese Crostini w/ Pear, Walnuts, & Honey

- goat cheese
- 1 red tartlet pear, sliced thinly
- honey

- fresh thyme
How- To:
Cut baguette into 1/2 slices.
Toast sliced baguette for 5 minutes at 450F and let cool.
Spread goat cheese on top of baguettes.
Then, add 3 thin slices of pear on each crostini.
Toast walnut pieces in a pan until slightly golden and let cool.
