Hi, guys!
Today, I'm sharing my murder mystery dinner experience with The Murder Mystery Co.
I've been so excited to write this post for you guys! A few weeks ago, Fred and I attended Of Sound Mind & Dead Body, a murder mystery dinner party in Columbus. The theme was magic, mystery, and murder and we had to solve the crime before the magician got away!
When The Murder Mystery Co. reached out to me, I was really excited! I'd heard about their shows before, but I didn't know what to expect. I will walk you guys through a quick play by play of the event! When Fred and I got there, the first thing we did was get our photos with some fun props and then we were seated to our table. We were at a table with a few other couples that we didn't know and I felt shy at first. However, we were lucky that everyone at our table was so nice! We then found out that we were on a team with everyone at our table. Next a handful of people were chosen out of the audience by the actors to take part in the mystery with them. I was actually chosen to be one of the main characters in the mystery! I've gotta say, I was definitely out of my comfort zone doing that! I'm terrible at acting, so I was really nervous about how it was going to go! Even more than that, I'm pretty shy and soft spoken to act in front of a room full of strangers. I never do things like that! My character was Miss Poly Esther, isn't that a cute name?
Each table was then given a few binders with unique clues in them. All of the tables got to trade information with each other throughout the mystery. The audience got to watch questioning of the actors/actresses and scenes throughout too. Dinner was served during the show as well. I had the chicken primavera and Fred had the meatball primavera. We were also served salads and vanilla cake. It was so cool that we got to meet the cook after the show, she was so sweet!
My favorite thing about the show was how well the actors/actresses brought the entire room of people together. Scarlett was one of the main actresses and leaders and she did such an incredible job at getting everyone to work together and have fun! At the beginning of the show, the audience seemed a little reserved and stiff, but by the end of the night we were all laughing and collaborating together! The whole crew of actors/actresses made the experience really fun and collaborative.
I would suggest this as a date night for a couple, or a group! I imagine it would be really fun to go to with a group of friends. A lot of people dressed the part, which made it so much more fun and easier to get into character! You can also choose from a variety of themes and pick the one that sounds the most interesting to you. The show was located at the Phenix Banquet Center located at 2101 Noe Bixby Rd, Columbus, OH 43232. They have other locations in different states and in Fairfield, Ohio.
Do you want to go to one?!
Love,
Christina xx
