Hi, my friends!
How are you? How has your week been? We are hangin' in around here and trying to find joy in the quarantine life. I know I rarely post recipes on here and then this week, I post 2 in a row!
Since we've been in quarantine, we've been cooking and baking some new things and I just had to share these adorable cupcakes with you!
I was SO inspired by a pin I found on Pinterest for Matcha Moss Cupcakes from Thirsty For Tea. I could not get over how magical her moss detail was! I decided I wanted to try and make some for Fred and I. These were perfect for Easter, but I think they're also great for the whole spring season. Get yourself some of the mini chocolate bunnies now while they're on sale!
So to make these cupcakes, I actually smushed a few recipes together. I visually made the cupcakes look like the ones I saw on Thirsty For Tea. Her cupcakes are absolute perfection. Mine did not turn out as beautiful as hers haha, but I was still very happy with them!

Whimsical Woodland Moss & Bunny Cupcakes Recipe
For the cupcakes:
I used a simple boxed chocolate cake mix for the cupcakes and I bought brown cupcake liners from Amazon.
For the frosting:
I made a basic vanilla buttercream frosting and added green food coloring to it.
I used the Perfect Vanilla Frosting recipe from Beyond Frosting.
For the moss topping:
I used the Realistic Moss Cookies recipe from Semi Sweet Designs. I used this recipe, because it used a graham cracker base instead of a matcha one.
For the other toppings:
I added Lindt miniature milk chocolate bunnies and crushed edible dried rose petals to the moss topping to make it look like little bunnies sitting in the forest.
Thirsty For Tea's Matcha Moss Cupcakes were my visual inspiration! :)
P.S- I found the edible rose petals at World Market.
& I also found some online here at the Savory Spice Shop.
Love,
Christina xx
