Lifestyle | Pumpkin Patch Date Diary {Plain City, OH}

 Hi, guys!

Happy Halloween!!! I hope you have (or had) a great time dressing up, if you celebrate! Fred and I have went to The Orchard & Co. for the past 2 years and we've had so much fun both times! They have an adorable little pumpkin patch and orchard. They serve delicious apple cider and pumpkin donuts and they have a few different play area for kids. I love seeing all of the excited little kids running around! This year we actually got there when they were just about to close. We didn't look ahead of time, so we were a little bummed to find out we did't have much time to hang out once we got there. It was still great though, we made the most of our time there!
This past weekend, Fred and I stayed at my sister-in-law's house. She had her annual Halloween party on Saturday and this year it was a Halloween/Housewarming party because they've just recently moved in. We dressed up as Scooby-Doo & Shaggy and the party was a lot of fun. We stayed up until 3 a.m! We were all so exhausted on Sunday morning. I fell asleep twice during the day! As the evening came, I felt really really sick. I got a bad migraine and was so nauseous. I was miserable. I ate a lot of foods that I don't normally eat at the party and trust me, I paid for it. Monday morning first thing I did was print out all of my food plan lists so I can start following it more strictly again! I do not want to feel that sick again in my entire life. Unfortunately, it happens with my disease, but I'm gonna at least try to avoid those episodes as much as I can. It stinks because I feel like I can't ever really splurge without getting really sick!

The night before the party, Audrey, Fred, and I carved pumpkins. My favorite part of carving is scooping all of the pumpkin guts out... is that weird?! LOL, No one ever agrees with me on that. Fred and Audrey are like master pumpkin carvers. Every year their pumpkins turn out so good! I don't have much experience with carving. Growing up, I was never allowed to use the carving knife and carve. My mom was too afraid I'd get cut. (I cut my hand peeling potatoes today, so maybe she was on to something ;p) It wasn't until college that I started carving pumpkins on my own haha. At least that's my excuse as to why my pumpkins don't turn out as beautifully as theirs! The one I made this year though is my favorite one I've ever carved!

Did you get to a pumpkin patch this fall? Or are you planning on going, there's still time!
